The 145th Airlift Wing (145 AW) is a unit of the North Carolina Air Nationa;l Guard,
stationed at Charlotte Air National Guard Base, at Charlotte Douglas International
Airport in Charlotte, North Carolina. If activated to federal service within the
United States Air Force, the wing is operationally gained by the
Air Mobility Command (AMC).
The 146th is also one of four units in the Air Force that is equipped with MAFFS or the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System. This system has played an integral role in firefighting missions since 1985.
